SUMMARY:Beginning Quilting
DESCRIPTION:Beginning Quilting\n        \nIf you have been wanting to learn to quilt or tried to quilt on your own and ran into obstacles\, then this series is for you. We’ll cover everything from start to finish while constructing a beginner-friendly quilt. We’ll start with the basics – quilting terms\, how to read a pattern\, proper technique using a rotary cutter\, etc. – and then continue on thru piecing the blocks\, putting them together\, then quilting and binding. After the five classes\, you’ll have a finished quilt that you’ll be proud to say “I made that” – I promise!!\n\nDate: Sundays April 26\, May 3\, 24\, 31 and June 7\, 2026\nTime: 10:30 am – 4:00 pm with lunch breaks and multiple stretch breaks\nInstructor:  Gloria Herman\nClass fee:  $200 plus supplies; $50 deposit required to hold your place in class.\nMax class size – 8 students\nPhone:  561-348-4101 (texting only please) to register for the class\nEmail: gloherman@yahoo.com \n\nAn extensive handout with photos is provided. \nThe class will all be making the same pattern\, but you will choose fabrics that work for YOU! A pretty focal fabric\, a complimentary fabric and a light background will be what you’ll need. I’m in the store every Wednesday and Saturday if you need assistance\, as well as anyone else who works at the store can help you. I will be making the sample quilt in December/January and will post when it is finished. I’ve attached a photo of the quilts made in the last session – the one our class will be sewing will be similar in that we’ll be focusing on half-square triangles\, which is one of the basic units used in quilting. \nHope to see you in class!!
